Instill and nurture the Kiganda culture in growing up children of Buganda

A recent cultural training programme for children code-named Ekisaakaate (Royal Enclosure) this is another development by Her Royal Highness to try and instill and maintain the Kiganda culture in these growing up children of Buganda. It is to greatly reinforce her efforts to vitalize and strengthen moral values. Many people applauded the Queen upon organizing such a special event for the teenagers early this year in January 2008.

The two-week training session was at Mbogo Mixed Secondary School at Kawanda, in the Wakiso district, and attracted over 600 children between the ages of 9-11, 12-15 and 16-18 years. Each one of these participants received lessons on moral values, leadership roles, HIV/Aids counseling, domestic duties, spiritual and practical skills.

Cultural issues with the main theme of Laba(See), Yiga( Learn, and Kola(Do) were the main focus of the Ekisaakaate. Personnel Development as one of the topics in the curriculum in the children was very crucial because most children needed to believe in themselves as they prepare themselves for the future.

Given this enormous task that the Nnabagereka has to do, it is only proper that she starts the project for kisaakaate to coordinate and revitalise our culture and norms through all the activities related to her important role.
